Drill rods have a diameter of 19-168mm and a length of 0.5-9m, made of alloy steel such as 42CrMo, with a tensile strength of 800-1200MPa. The surface is treated for wear resistance, and the joints are mostly tapered or straight threaded connections. They are mainly used in geological exploration, mining, and water well construction to transmit torque and axial pressure, enabling the rotation and drilling of the drill bit and core extraction.
