Drill rods have a diameter of 19-168mm and a length of 0.5-9m, made of alloy steel such as 42CrMo, with a tensile strength of 800-1200MPa. The surface is treated for wear resistance, and the joints are mostly tapered or straight threaded connections. They are mainly used in geological exploration, mining, water well construction and other scenarios to transmit torque and axial pressure, and to achieve rotary drilling and core extraction of the drill bit.
